Favignana
The Island of Favignana is the largest of Aegadian isles and is located about 7 kilometers from the west coast of Sicily. You can reach it daily by boat or by hydrofoils from Trapani, Marsala, or by boat from Naples in the summer.
Favignana or "Aegusa" (Butterfly) as in ancient times was known for its peculiar shape of a butterfly has a surface of 19 square kilometers and a journey of about 33 kilometers.
The current name is derived from the "Favonio" wind, a warm wind from the west which will determine the very mild climate all year round.
